1st October 2010: WE HAVE OPENED A SHOP IN RIPON
You might have seen our news item on this website from June this year about our window display on 73, Northstreet in Ripon.
Well, we are excited to tell you that we have opened a shop in the same location on the first of October. Everybody here at Jennyruth worked extra hard to produce plenty of stock for the new shop and were also busy developing new ranges of products. There was a real buzz in the workshops as we were all looking forward to this new venture.
We have thought about the idea of a permanent shop for a while but it was not until a local landlord offered us a reasonable rent that we felt we could put our idea into practise. We received so many compliments for our window display that we felt encouraged to go ahead with opening as a shop. At a recent sales event in the foyer of Sainsbury's, our workers at Jennyruth gave out fliers and talked to customers about the shop. The overwhelming response was very positive.
The workers at Jennyruth are keen to start working in the shop. With this in mind, Jennyruth Workshops has been successful in obtaining a grant through North Yorkshire Learning Consortium to provide training in key skills. The workers will receive bespoke training on Customer Service Skills, Money Skills, Till Training and Manual Handling.
The shop was officially opened by the Mayor and Mayoress of Ripon, Cllr David Elsy and Denise Bolland. It will open every Thursday and Friday from 10am to 4pm as well as on Saturday mornings from 9.30am to 1pm.
We hope that local people will visit the shop and see the quality products that our workers at Jennyruth make. We will have a large range of our products available to see and to buy and will also take commissions and bespoke orders.
